Reading Notes on Being a Man by Scott Galloway and I am blown away by how raw and insightful it is. Highly recommend it to anyone with a pulse.

First observation with Niri, holy crap does my battery lasy longer. We are talking a 30% improvement in battery life. I cannot explain why yet, but this alone is a huge reason not to go back to Hyprland

Trying Niri seeing as Hyprland seems intent on making my life way more difficult than it needs to be and so far I am liking it. The whole scrolling tile affair is weirdly nice.

Kinda related point. Games Workshop should have this whole Black Library Phone App shoved right up their back passage. After years of DRM free ebooks they decided to put everything in their walled garden and frankly thats kinda gross

DRM on ebooks is such a pointless affair. I buy my ebooks (support authors y'all!) but I want to be able to read MY books on whatever damn device I want. Stripping most ebook DRM is a 2 minute job with Calibre... Why do they even bother? Just let us read what we buy however we want to read it.

Hell yeah! SQLite is brilliant, it is more than enough for the vast majority of applications, and I am so stoked it got recognized like this

The Scrubs reboot was almost perfect! Finally got done watching it and they did such a fantastic job capturing the feel of the original show. The OG cast were great, the new cast were incredible, the highs and lows, the emotional bits, all so well done. My only complaint revolves around the cameo...

Good. I have nothing against Spirit, but we have to stop bailing out bad businesses just because they are big enough to have a presence in DC. No one is saving a local bakery at a federal level, why should an airline be any different?

"Don't let the bastards grind you down" is the kind of generic advice that can seem super unhelpful in certain situations. Today though, today I needed to hear that. Let'em try, I refuse to break

I love this! Bring on the retro tractors

And this is why no surveillance is good surveillance. It does not matter if you trust the people doing the surveillance or not, if a backdoor exists ANYONE can use it given a little effort.

Made the switch to noble for my cell service. Putting my money where my mouth is when it comes to getting people off of their phones and engaging with the real world!

In a world that seems a little grim, this is the kind of news I find exciting. We are going to start making artificial retinas in SPACE.

Living with depression and anxiety long term is a weird life experience. One minute, you can be fine, and then things go quiet and suddenly your brain just… rebels?

I am so glad that the way we have decided to combat AI is by throwing tools in front of websites that break browsers and require you to open up your device to weird code runs…

De-Amazon-ing is surprisingly difficult. Over the many years I’ve had a Prime subscription I have become so dependent on the ease. Gonna do it this year though!

My problem with the AI discussion as it stands today is simple. Most of the people talking about it are the absolute fanatics and the absolute detractors. We need a middle ground discussion that focuses on facts

Getting all nostalgic and playing a little Fallout 1 thanks to the excellent work done by Fallout 1 Community Edition
